Current Position: Technology Integration Supervisor for Orange City Schools.
Professional Objective: Facilitate interesting, satisfying, challenging online experiences for experienced educators that will assist them in integrating technology with curriculum.
Examples of recent work and achievements:
Recognized as Technology Specialist of the Year for the state of Ohio at the eTech 2009 Conference.
Completed the UW Stout E-Learning Internship as part of the E-Learning Practicum...a mentored experience, this internship provided an opportunity for me to experience online facilitation from behind the scenes using the Desire to Learn course management system and from the perspective of a co-facilitator of the Instructional Design for E-Learning course. Instructional experience included facilitating discussion, posting announcements, providing email instructions and guidance for students, and assessing student work.
ETech Ohio…online facilitator for the Facilitating Online Course and mentor for those teaching their first online courses (2004-2007).
Planner and facilitator for National School Boards Association Technology Leadership Network site visit to Orange City Schools, May 2006. Attended by educators from across the United States, this event was one of three selected by NSBA to showcase district integration of technology as well as their staff development for technology integration.
Working on the Work Teacher Academies and workshop Technology Integration Presenter (2000-2008). These academies have afforded an opportunity for staff members to discuss the ways that our district uses technology and encourage use of our considerable district resources as they design work for students.
Designer and presenter for Technology Integration Academies (2001 through 2010). The Academies are designed to meet the time requirements, equipment needs, and skill levels of all participants.
Designer, facilitator, and presenter for Orange City Schools Technology Conferences (February 2004 and November 2007). Attended by 400 staff members, this district opportunity offered participants a choice of workshop topics in literacy, adapting, and transforming uses of technology.
Presenter at state and national annual conferences including the eTech Ohio Conferences, NSBA T+L Conferences, NSDC Summer Conference 2007, FETC 2008, and NECC 2008.
