UWStout E-Learning Certification Program

The UStout E-Learning Certification Program consists of five required courses and an internship. Topics include creating collaborative communities, assessment, course management, instructional design, and a practicum course. The Practicum provides an opportunity, through development of a personal e-portfolio, for analysis and synthesis of the required coursework and internship experience.

This course is about facilitating and building an e-learning community and is designed for those who want to become highly qualified in facilitating online learning in hybrid or fully online courses.

EDUC 762 Assessment in E-Learning

Assessment is an essential and integral part of online teaching and learning. Content for this course centers on becoming an online course designer while developing electronic record keeping systems and methods for evaluating discussion postings and group projects. Several types of assessment tools are also explored and modeled.

This course prepares learners to lead and manage instructional challenges in a variety of online settings. The emphasis is on what you can use right now in your teaching or training.

EDUC 763 Instructional Design for E-Learning

This course prepares you to create online courses that work efficiently. By understanding how people learn, online pedagogies, and best practices, you can shape an effective and engaging learning experience. The course also addresses hybrid learning environments, the use of a variety of media, and effective evaluation of online course design.

EDUC 764 E-Learning Practicum

This course provides a mentored online teaching experience (Internship) for participants who have completed the first four courses in the Certificate program. It provide graduates of the certificate program with real time experience in e-learning and online teaching.
