Technology Integration Professional Development
Technology Integration Academies
At Orange City Schools we make every effort to tailor our professional development offerings to the needs of the teacher, their curriculum, and their students. Our Technology Integration Academies provide opportunities for staff, administrators, and new employees to develop their skills with new and developing technology resources that when embedded in personal and professional work will enhance the teaching and learning experience for all.
National Presentations 2007-2009
Representing our district at various national conferences has been a great source of pride for me and other members of our department.
- During 2005-2006 our district began to develop a process for gathering and analyzing student data with the goal of designing appropriate academic interventions. Wnting to share our experience with others, we developed and presented "On the brink? Sitting Pretty? Over the Edge? What's your position on data?" for National School Board Association Technology Leadership Network Conference 2007.

- Orange City Schools has many technology resources that are used by teachers to differentiate instruction. This weblink provides resources that were included in our presentation at FETC 2008 on "Using Technology to Differentiate Instruction". FETC 2008 Resources
- It was my pleasure in June 2008 to facilitate a Birds of a Feather session at NECC. Attended by about 30 online educators from around the globe, the session provided an opportunity to discuss topics related to "Teaching Online? Let's Talk!" NECC_08_Presentation.pdf

- For several years, Orange City Schools has attended the NSBA T+L Conference and participated in the Excellence Fair. An exciting event, the Excellence Fair provides a wonderful opportunity for districts to display and discuss their work with technology in education. During the October 2009 conference, we shared our use of Web 2.0 tools to support 21st Century learning.
Tech Day
Technology Day is a one day mini-conference for Orange City Schools staff. It is a wonderful example of professional development done by staff for other staff members. This year I provided an introductory session on the ABCs of Web 2.0.
